All the roads involved in the event will be closed off and no parking will be allowed (including the first 20 meters of the laterals), with different timetables in particular between: the route entering the city up to Porta Maggiore, the circuit to be repeated twice, and the finish area in Irnerio.
Below are the details.
1 . The route into the city
The roads affected by the peloton's route into the city up to the start of the double circuit (via Alberto Mario, Orsola Mezzini roundabout, via Alberto Mario, via della Battaglia, via Card. Gil Alvarez Carrillo de Albornoz, via Benedetto Marcello, via Torino, Caduti Italiani in Missione di Pace roundabout, via Po, via Emilia Levante, via Giuseppe Mazzini, Piazza di Porta Maggiore) will be closed to traffic from approximately 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday 30 June. The roads will be reopened after the passage of the race and official vehicles.
2. The double circuit
All the streets of the central city route (Viali, Irnerio, Mille, Marconi, Piazza Malpighi, Sant'Isaia, Andrea Costa, Irma Bandiera, San Luca, Monte Albano, Casaglia, Saragozza outside the city gates) will be closed from 1 pm to 6.30 pm on Sunday 30 June. So will the inner ring of the avenues in the stretch from Porta Saragozza to Porta San Donato, by way of Porta San Mamolo, Azeglio, Santo Stefano, Mazzini, San Vitale.
The outer 'southern' avenues (between Porta San Mamolo and Porta Santo Stefano) will instead remain open until 3 p.m. In this way, all residents south of this stretch will be able to get off, until that time, for example from Via San Mamolo or Castiglione to exit Via Murri.
On all the streets involved in the route (both those entering the city and the double loop) parking is forbidden with forced removal to ensure the safety of cyclists and people watching the race from the side of the road, starting from 2 pm on Saturday 29 June until the end of the event, i.e. approximately until 6.30 pm on Sunday 30 June.
3. The 'Irnerio-Indipendenza' arrival area
Different timetables and measures will concern the finish area: via del Pallone and the stretch of via Irnerio from via del Pallone to via Indipendenza, to host the finish line in front of piazza VIII Agosto, will be closed to traffic from 8.00 pm on Saturday 29 June until 10.00 pm on Sunday 30 June, while parking will be prohibited on these streets from 12 pm on Saturday 29 June.
The remaining stretch of via Irnerio (from Porta San Donato to via del Pallone/via Alessandrini) will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday 30 June. Same hours shall apply for the section of via Indipendenza from the intersection with via Irnerio to the intersection with via Rizzoli/Ugo Bassi, a stretch that will also undergo the temporary suspension of the bus fast lane and the suspension of the t-days pedestrian area.
The section of via Indipendenza, from the intersection with via Irnerio to the avenues, on the other hand, will be closed to vehicle traffic from 12.30 pm to 10.00 pm on Sunday 30 June.
The traffic restrictions will also apply to all roads leading to Via Irnerio and Via Indipendenza.
On the entire Via Indipendenza (from Piazza Venti Settembre to Via Rizzoli) parking will also be prohibited, with enforced tow-away on both sides of the road, except for official vehicles accompanying the event, which will be identified by a specific sticker issued specifically by the organisation.
Access to the city's hospitals - Bellaria, Maggiore, Rizzoli and Sant'Orsola-Malpighi - will always be allowed.
4. Via di San Luca, via di Monte Albano, via di Casaglia
Via di San Luca will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. until 6.30 p.m. on Sunday 30 June. Access to pedestrians will not be allowed with bottles or glass containers, and the organisers, assisted by the police, may interrupt the influx of people at any time if the maximum capacity is exceeded.
Via di Monte Albano will be closed from 12.30 am until 6.30 pm on Sunday 30 June, and in any case from 6 am to 12.30 pm will only be open to traffic towards Via di Casaglia. Parking restrictions will be in force from 12 p.m. on Saturday 29th June and shall also apply to the coach parking areas and car parks usually reserved for visitors to the sanctuary.
Via di Casaglia will be closed from 1 p.m. until 6.30 p.m. with parking restrictions on the entire stretch from Via Saragozza to Via di Monte Albano in force from 2 p.m. on Saturday 29 June.
Antistadio Parking
The so-called 'Antistadio' car park, located in Via Andrea Costa in front of number 176, will be reserved for motorhomes and caravans travelling to the city to watch the race, which will be booked on the dedicated portal, and will therefore not be available to residents or cars for the entire day of Saturday 29 June and the entire day of Sunday 30 June. The parking ban will be in force from 12 p.m. on Saturday 29 June.
Public Transport
On the occasion of the arrival of the Tour de France stage on Sunday 30 June, public transport in Bologna will always be guaranteed, albeit with the necessary temporary route adjustments of the lines running on the roads affected by the cycling race. Over the next few weeks all measures related to line changes will be announced on the TPER website.
